J&K Peoples Conference Sr. Vice President and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil expressed deep concern over power crisis in the Valley and said that unscheduled power cuts have aggravated woes of people in the valley especially in Rafiabad and Sopore.
Vakil visited today villages of upper belt of Rafiabad, including Braman, Khamoh, Brandub, Naribal and Shalqoot and said the upper belt has been totally neglected on development front, roads are in worst condition, no macadamisation has taken place in the area for years. He said the winter is yet to begin and power crisis have already started. Despite a load-shedding schedule announced by the government, unscheduled and frequent power cuts continue unabated and people especially students and old and ailing are facing massive inconvenience due to power cuts.
Vakil exhorted the UT government to take immediate measures to tackle power crisis in the valley and implement its own schedule in letter and spirit without any delay So that people in general & students in particular will not suffer.
