Jammu, Dec 23: Politics is not a business but a service to people living in social setup in a country like India was stated by former chief minister of J&K and Democratic Azad Party chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad during a press briefing held here today. He said respect all religions, people from all walks of life and all poltical parties because we are living in a secular setup and we are Indians where we have to live here upon this earth and die here only.We are all human beings and we should not make any difference among us and if we are doing so by any means that means we don’t believe in God,he explained. He said my thinking is to serve mankind, poor and downtrodden people of my state without knowing their caste creed,colour or religion and I want this thinking and this vision of mine should remain as it is rest of my life along with the people who have joined me now at the helms of people of Jammu and Kashmir. Citing an example he said that more than one lakh children from Jammu and Kashmir were sent outside for various professional and technical trainings by myself but it is not something that I am a man made of gold or something else but I am a simple human being and my aim is to serve the humanity Azad asserted, adding that during my first meeting with officers I advise them always that whosoever comes to you for any genuine purpose with a hope and confidence in me do his or her work without any delay, he added Without naming anybody DAP chief said that adulterated politics effects very badly on the health of a nation just like we take in adulterated food and our health deteriorates.Same is the case with the people who have taken over the reigns of Jammu and Kashmir. A political set up is very important than Governor’s rule.Don’t blame the officers who are at helms presently because they have no orders yet to conduct elections but an officer is not an appropriate person for running the affairs of a state as I can’t be a good clerk,or a tehsildar,patwari etc because I donot know anything about it similarly I can be a good chief minister than a clerk,Azad maintained. Governor rule is necessary during adverse situations like militancy or so,but during normalcy its continuity should not last for more than six months, he further added.
