Police detain KPS Officer Sheikh Adil in Srinagar

Srinagar Police detained a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) from the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday, facing various allegations. Earlier this week, a team of Srinagar police conducted a search at DySP Sheikh Aadil Mushtaq’s residence (KPS) near the BSNL exchange in Sanathnagar, Srinagar. According to sources, they confiscated certain documents, a laptop, and other electronic devices, and the officer was subjected to questioning in connection with a case. On Thursday, the officer was officially taken into custody by Srinagar police under FIR number 149 of 2023, which encompasses sections 167, 193, 201, 210, 218, and 221 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as sections 7 and 7A of the Corruption Act, at the Nowgam police station. Further inquiries are currently in progress.
