As many as five illegal immigrants from Bangladesh were arrested in the national capital, Delhi Police said on Monday.
“All of them are illegal immigrants and had attempted to forcibly enter the Red Fort premises,” the police added.

All the arrested individuals are aged between 20 and 25 years and were working as labourers in Delhi.
“Police have recovered Bangladeshi identification documents from them. They are currently being interrogated,” officials said.
Earlier on Saturday, Gurugram Police detained 10 Bangladeshi nationals found to be residing illegally in the city.
Their nationality was confirmed following the recovery of Bangladeshi identification documents.
“Ten illegal Bangladeshi immigrants have been detained. Relevant documents have been recovered from them, and the deportation process has been initiated,” said Sandeep Kumar, PRO of Gurugram Police.
Seven Delhi Police personnel, including constables and head constables, were reprimanded after a dummy bomb went undetected during a security drill at the Red Fort ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, officials said.
The officers, who were assigned to Red Fort security, were dismissed for “negligence in duty,” police added.
“A Special Cell team conducted a security drill on Saturday, entering the Red Fort premises in plain clothes with a dummy bomb. The security personnel on duty failed to detect the bomb, leading to their reprimand,” the police said. (Agencies)
