Singapore News :Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday kicked off his visit to Singapore with a lively start, trying his hands on a dhol as members of the Indian diaspora greeted him with enthusiasm.
Adding a personal touch to the occasion, a woman from the community tied a rakhi on Modi’s wrist.
Accompanied by Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, among other officials, Modi’s visit will include key meetings with Singapore’s top leaders, including President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong. The visit also aims to build synergies in the semiconductor sector, with both prime ministers scheduled to visit a semiconductor manufacturing facility. MoUs focused on manpower skilling in this critical area are expected to be signed, offering promising opportunities for India’s youth.
Modi, who last visited Singapore in 2018, took to X ahead of his departure, expressing his anticipation for discussions that will strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations, particularly in emerging sectors.
“I look forward to my discussions to deepen our Strategic Partnership with Singapore, particularly in new and emerging areas of advanced manufacturing, digitalization, and sustainable development,” Modi had posted on X.
With a packed schedule and high hopes for the future, Modi’s visit to Singapore is set to further solidify the growing bond between India and Singapore.
