The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, as well as the three service chiefs—Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri was also present.

According to sources, the Prime Minister reiterated his firm stance on national security, directing the armed forces to respond with decisive force to any provocation from across the border. “Wahan se goli chalegi, toh yahan se gola,” he is quoted as saying, indicating a robust retaliatory posture.

The security leadership emphasized that Operation Sindoor—launched in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people—remains ongoing. The Indian Air Force (IAF), which has played a key role in the operation, confirmed that it has completed its assigned missions with “precision and professionalism,” although operational activity continues.

A statement by the IAF on platform X (formerly Twitter) urged the public and media to avoid speculation and refrain from sharing unverified information, noting that a comprehensive briefing will be provided in due course.

Operation Sindoor, initiated on May 7, targeted multiple terrorist bases across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, marking one of the most significant cross-border responses in recent years. The operation follows repeated violations of the ceasefire by Pakistan, including shelling and drone incursions along the Line of Control.
