On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting with the Secretaries of various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India to evaluate the country’s preparedness and inter-ministerial coordination amid recent national security developments.
The meeting focused on ensuring seamless collaboration between ministries and agencies to maintain operational continuity and strengthen institutional resilience. PM Modi emphasized the importance of inter-departmental cooperation, particularly in terms of emergency response and communication protocols.
During the review, Secretaries provided an update on their ministries’ planning for the current situation, detailing the comprehensive steps they are taking to ensure readiness. Each ministry identified its key action points, focusing on enhancing processes to handle any emerging challenges effectively.
Key discussions included strengthening civil defense mechanisms, combating misinformation and fake news, and securing critical infrastructure. The Secretaries were also instructed to closely collaborate with state authorities and ground-level institutions to ensure a unified response.
The meeting was attended by the Cabinet Secretary, senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, and Secretaries from essential ministries such as Defence, Home Affairs, External Affairs, Information & Broadcasting, Power, Health, and Telecommunications.
