Passenger plane crashes in Brazil in terrifying video, all 62 on board killed

Sao Paulo’s state fire brigade has reportedly confirmed on social media that a plane crashed in Vinhedo. It said that seven crews have been sent to the accident site.

Voepass Flight 2283 was on its way to Sao Paulo, Brazil from Cascavel, Brazil, per FlightAware. The flight, which departed Cascavel at 11:50 am, was set to land in Sao Paulo at 1:40 pm. FlightAware said that the aircraft was ATR ATR-72.

Live flight tracker website Flightradar24 shared on X that the aircraft was built in 2010. “The aircraft involved is PS-VPB, a 14-year-old ATR72-500 built in 2010. The flight, #2Z2283, left Cascavel (CAC) at 14:56UTC bound for Sao Paolo (GRU). The last signal we received from the aircraft was at 16:22UTC,” the post reads.

Crisis cabinet created

The governor of São Paulo, Brazil, has created a crisis cabinet to respond to the crash. “This crisis cabinet will be made up of the federal government, the state government and the Brazilian Air Force,” Gov. Tarcísio de Freitas said, CNN Brasil reported.

Valinhos City Communications Director Ana Cândida Briski told CNN that no one was killed in the residential area where the plane crashed. The Technical-Scientific Police Superintendency (SPTC) and the Civil and Military Police were reportedly mobilised to rescue victims. Teams from the Legal Medical Institute (IML) and those who are responsible for collecting bodies were also sent to the scene of the crash.
