A Pakistani intruder was injured and arrested after BSF troops opened fire upon noticing movement by a group attempting to sneak across the International Border in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials said.
The alert Border Security Force (BSF) personnel spotted the intruders between Chandwan and Kothey border outposts in the Hiranagar sector around 4 pm and challenged them to stop, according to officials.
When the intruders ignored repeated warnings, the BSF troops stationed at the forward posts opened fire, injuring one of the intruders.
The injured intruder was apprehended and immediately taken to a hospital for treatment, officials added. His identity and the motive behind the infiltration attempt remain under investigation. (Agencies)
