Officials added that the cabinet discussions also covered issues related to electricity, reservation, and winter preparedness.

The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet approved promotions and service-related matters for officer cadres in the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department and sanctioned funds to strengthen cooperative societies in the livestock and fisheries sectors.

Cabinet Minister Javed Rana told reporters that several agenda items were cleared, focusing on the timely resolution of pending administrative matters.

“The main agenda involved the promotion and seniority confirmation of R&B officers, which has now been agreed upon,” Rana said.

He added that funds were allocated to support the pawns and anglers community through cooperative societies and that the Cabinet approved the establishment of the Animal Protection Board to streamline livestock welfare regulations.

Rana noted that daily wagers across departments were also discussed. “The Chief Secretary has been directed to submit a report urgently, as the government is committed to ensuring justice for daily wagers,” he said.

The meeting concluded with instructions to expedite the submission of pending departmental reports and ensure that all decisions are implemented without delay. (Agencies)
