Jammu, Feb 13: Now Jammu Development Authority (JDA) is all set to act tough against the faulters who have encroached its land or raised structures illegally over it and in this regard a list is said to have been prepared and action is going to be taken shortly sources privy to this channel said here today.
They said that administration of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory has taken a strong notice and cognizance of the matter that land mafia has gone berserk on grabbing state and forest land besides Kahcharai for the last quite some time in connivance with the officials of Municipal Corporations and Revenue Department for grabbing large chunks of government land, later on sell the same to influential and other people on higher prices thereby making money to thousands and thousands of crores.
They said the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir has directed Jammu Development Authority to rise from the deep slumber and act now to retrieve its encroached land and bulldoze the structures raised over it by the faulters without any more delay and also make list of those people who were involved in sale purchase of encroached land by the influential under this illegal trade.
The sources said that axe is going likely to fall on those officials of different departments too, who will be found involved directly or indirectly responsible in this illegal acts and will invite action under relevant laws and may lose their jobs depends upon the severity of the offence.
This is a clear cut message for all those people who get involved in illegal acts have to face music later or sooner, the sources further added.
