The “Public Information” posters display photographs of five terrorists believed to have infiltrated from Pakistan and are reportedly active in parts of the Jammu region. The posters urge citizens to immediately inform the Security Forces — Army, CRPF, Police and BSF — if they notice any of the individuals. A dedicated helpline number (8899761944) has been issued, with authorities assuring that the identity of informers will be kept strictly confidential.

The development comes shortly after police in Doda district put up posters of Pakistan-based terror commander Saifullah Balochi as part of sustained operations to track foreign terrorists operating in the Chenab Valley belt. Security agencies believe the resurfacing of such posters in Kathua signals heightened efforts to flush out Pakistani terrorists attempting to expand their footprint in the Jammu Division.

Over the past two years, Jammu Division — particularly districts like Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch and Kathua — has witnessed increased terror activity, including encounters in dense forest areas and near border belts. Several Pakistani terrorists have been neutralised in joint operations by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, while search operations continue in vulnerable pockets.

Officials said the latest posters are aimed at strengthening public participation in the counter-terror grid, especially in remote and border areas where terrorists often try to seek shelter or logistical support. Citizens have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement immediately.

Security has been further tightened in Kathua and adjoining areas, with intensified patrolling and surveillance. Authorities reiterated that timely information from the public can play a decisive role in thwarting terror plans and ensuring peace in the region.
