MeT Forecasts Weather Change in J&K from April 18-20, Advises Precautions

Srinagar, April 15: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather advisory for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting a significant shift in weather conditions from April 18 to 20. The region is expected to experience generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and snow in higher elevations, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds starting the evening of April 18.

Travelers, tourists, and transporters are urged to plan their journeys accordingly and stay updated with local administration and traffic advisories. Farmers are advised to complete ongoing farm operations by April 17, as weather conditions may disrupt activities beyond that date.

The MeT department also forecasts generally cloudy skies for April 21, with a chance of light rain and thunderstorms in scattered areas. Dry weather is expected to prevail from April 22 to 25, but another spell of cloudy weather is anticipated for April 26-27, with a possibility of moderate snow in higher regions.

In addition, the advisory warns of potential landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones at vulnerable locations. Residents and visitors are encouraged to stay informed about the latest weather updates and take necessary precautions.
