A chartered aircraft flying from Mumbai to Baramati in Maharashtra crash-landed at around 8.45 am on Wednesday. According to preliminary reports, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party chief Ajit Pawar was onboard the flight.

Pawar was travelling to Baramati to attend a public rally in connection with the Zilla Parishad elections. Further details regarding the incident are awaited.

The Deputy Chief Minister was in Mumbai on Tuesday, where he attended a meeting of the Maharashtra Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Maharashtra Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and other concerned officials were also present at the meeting. (Agencies))
