Lt Col Among Two Soldiers Killed, 3 Officers Injured After Boulder Hits Army Vehicle in Leh

A Lieutenant Colonel and a soldier lost their lives, while three other officers sustained injuries after a boulder struck their vehicle in the Leh region on Wednesday morning, officials said.

An official told the news agency that the incident took place around 11:30 am when an Army convoy was en route from Durbuk to Chongtash and one of the vehicles was hit by a falling boulder.

He said that the incident resulted in the death of a Lieutenant Colonel and a jawan, while two officers of Major rank and a Captain sustained injuries. “The injured personnel have been evacuated to the Army Hospital in Leh for medical treatment,” he added. (Media reports)
