Latest bomb threat to Delhi schools leads police to group of students who may have been sending hoax emails for months

The police said the email was also sent to Mothers International School, Modern School, Springdales School, G D Goenka Public School, St Columba’s School, Salwan Public School, Amity International School, Air Force Bal Bharati, Delhi Public School in Vasant Vihar and R K Puram, and Frank Anthony Public School, among others.

The email warned the schools of “massive and highly dangerous explosives” on the premises.

As part of their investigation, the police from the South district checked the emails and found that the user had sent the hoax using Gmail. “Using technical surveillance, police traced the location of one of the students and brought him in for questioning. He eventually told investigators that the emails had been sent by him and some other students,” said a police source familiar with the probe.

The initial probe indicates that all students are from the same school. “They are tech-savvy and would send emails using VPN,” said the source.
