Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps confirmed the martyrdom of Agniveer Lalit Kumar of the 7 JAT Regiment, who succumbed to injuries sustained in the blast.

“GOC WhiteKnight Corps and all ranks pay solemn tribute to Agniveer Lalit Kumar of 7 JAT Regiment, who made the supreme sacrifice while on area domination patrol in Krishna Ghati Brigade area on July 25, 2025, following a mine blast. We stand with the bereaved family in this hour of grief,” the post reads.

The injured, including a JCO and another jawan, were evacuated and shifted to a military hospital for treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable, according to official sources.

Landmines are a constant threat along the LoC, often buried as part of the military’s defensive strategy but occasionally causing unintended casualties among patrolling troops.

Senior army officials have paid tribute to the fallen soldier, hailing his bravery and sacrifice in the line of duty.
Efforts are underway to clear and secure the area to prevent further incidents. (Sources)
