In a remarkable achievement, the Court of the Special Mobile Magistrate (Traffic), Srinagar — presided over by Mr. Touseef Ahmad Magray — has set a record in the virtual disposal of traffic challans and recovery of fines, reinforcing its commitment to road safety, strict enforcement of traffic laws, and speedy judicial processing.

Between September 2024 and 17 November 2025 (approximately 14 months), the court accomplished the following:

• Disposed of 2,10,117 traffic challans, one of the highest disposal figures ever recorded in the district’s traffic enforcement history.

• Recovered fines totalling ₹7,07,06,850, reflecting exceptional compliance and effective adjudication through virtual mechanisms.

This milestone highlights the court’s focus on efficient case management, timely disposal of challans, and enhanced coordination with traffic enforcement agencies — ensuring greater accountability and improved road discipline across Kashmir.

In recent months, the court has also observed a rise in public awareness regarding common traffic violations, including riding without helmets, triple-riding on two-wheelers, use of mobile phones while driving, wrong-lane driving, tinted glasses, and parking in no-parking zones. This increased awareness — driven through digital challan notifications, media outreach, and public advisories — has encouraged more citizens to voluntarily comply with traffic norms and promptly settle fines through online platforms.

Speaking on the achievement, Special Mobile Magistrate (Traffic) Srinagar, Mr. Touseef Ahmad Magray, credited the success to the sustained efforts of the judicial staff, the Traffic Police, and rising public awareness about traffic regulations and online payment of fines.

He expressed gratitude to the citizens for their cooperation and urged continued adherence to traffic rules to ensure safer roads and smooth commuting for all.
