Kangana Ranaut takes sly dig at fans praising Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan: ‘Goonjega toh yahan sirf Jai Shri Ram’

A day after herself praising Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release ‘Pathaan’ at an event, actress Kangana Ranaut took a sly dig at fans on Friday and claimed that the film shows Pakistan in a good light.

Kangana, who is back on Twitter, took to the microblogging site and questioned netizens stating that love has triumphed hate after ‘Pathaan’s phenomenal success at the box office.

She also said that while ‘Pathaan’ might just be one film, the country will only chant “Jai Shri Ram” always.

Kangana’s dig at Pathaan

Kangana asked, “All those who are claiming Pathan is triumph of love over hate, I agree but whose love over whose hate? Let’s be precise, whose is buying tickets and making it a success?”

She tweeted, “Yes it is India’s love and inclusiveness where eighty percent Hindus lives and yet a film called Pathan which shows out enemy nation Pakistan and ISIS in good light is running successfully, it is this spirit of India beyond hate and judgements that makes it Mahan.”

The actress went on to say, “It is the love of India that has triumphed hate and petty politics of enemies…Lekin all those who are having high hopes please note…Pathaan sirf ek film ho sakti hai… goonjega toh yahan sirf Jai Shri Ram”.

When Kangana praised Pathaan

On Tuesday night, Kangana was seen heaping praise on ‘Pathaan’ during the wrap up bash of her film ‘Emergency’.

“Pathaan achha kar rahi hai. Aisi films chalni chahiye aur I feel ki jo hamare Hindi cinema wale piche reh gaye hain, har insaan apne level pe koshish kar raha hai,” she told the media.

However, she was brutally trolled by netizens and was labelled “dual-faced” as the actress is infamous for trashing Bollywood and the Hindi film industry, in general.

Pathaan in theatres

Meanwhile, SRK’s return to the theatres with ‘Pathaan’ is nothing short of a festival for his fans and the box office numbers are a testimony to the same. The film has witnessed the biggest opening day in the history of Hindi cinema, with Rs 106 crore worldwide on its first day itself.

In India, ‘Pathaan’ registered the biggest non-holiday film opening with Rs 55 crore nett on Day 1.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘Pathaan’ also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, and the film is touted to be a part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe. It also has an extended cameo by Salman wherein he is seen in his ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ avatar.
