New Delhi, Jan 31: Asserting that situation in Jammu and Kashmir has changed after the abrogation of Article 370, President Droupadi Murmu on Friday described train to Kashmir as a major achievement of the government.
Addressing a joint sitting of Parliament, marking the beginning of this yearâs Budget Session, President Murmu said, âThere have been significant changes in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370. In the last six months, the government has made record investments in future infrastructure.â
She added: âI am happy to inform you that the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project has been completed, and now the country will be connected by railway from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Under this project, the worldâs highest rail bridge has been constructed over the Chenab River.â
On national security, the President said, âThe government has taken historic steps to protect the countryâs borders and ensure internal security.â
She also spoke about progress in the defence sector. âThe government has moved from âMake in Indiaâ to âMake for the Worldâ in the defense sector,â President Murmu saidâ(KNO)
