J&K Judo team secures two medals at the Junior National Championship.

The Jammu & Kashmir Judo team secured two medals at the Junior National Judo Championships 2024-25, held in Dehradun from March 28 to 31. The team, consisting of 23 judokas and officials, had a strong showing with Akshay Sharma winning a silver medal and Vipul Yashovardhan claiming bronze in their respective categories. The team was selected through trials and screening by the J&K Sports Council.

Other participants included Shilpa Rajput, Arshad, Smeena Akhter, Sunakshi Devi, Talha Fayaz, Anshika Sharma, Upasana Sharma, Tanvi Thakur, Nirali Sharma, Hidaya Shahid, Sumit Lal, Aman Kumar, Atul Sharma, Rajat Singh Chib, Lucky Bhagat, Rajan Bhardwaj, Bhawani Partap Singh, and Prikshit Singh.

The coaching staff consisted of Shakti Gupta and Jugal Kishore, with Manish Chatwal serving as the team manager. Suraj Bhan Singh, Sr. Judo Coach, and Dr. Jagan Meet Singh, Physiotherapist, also supported the team.
