LoP Sunil Sharma, Sagar, Mubarak Gul, Sajad Lone part of 9 member committee headed by Speaker J&K Assembly

Jammu, October 18, 2025: Advocate Abdul Rahim Rather, Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, today nominated the members of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the House. The committee, which is key to streamlining the legislative proceedings, was constituted under Rule 317 of the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business.
The Speaker will chair the committee, which includes representatives from both the ruling and opposition benches. The primary function of the BAC is to recommend the allocation of time for the discussion of government legislative business and other matters before the Assembly.
The committee’s composition ensures a wide political representation for effective decision-making. The nominated members include Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma (Bharatiya Janata Party, Leader of Opposition); Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar and Mr. Mubarak Gul (both from the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference); Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami (Communist Party of India (Marxist)); Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Mir (Indian National Congress); Mr. Sajad Gani Lone (Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference); Mr. Mohammad Fayaz (Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party); and Choudhary Mohammad Akram (Independent).
The notification, issued by the Legislative Assembly Secretariat, has been sent to various government departments and media houses, including leading local dailies, Doordarshan, and All India Radio, with a request for immediate publication and broadcast of the contents. The Assembly Secretariat has also directed that the notification be immediately uploaded on the official website.
