Indian High Commission Delegation Visits Prisoners in Pakistan Jail

RAWALPINDI: A three-member delegation from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad visited the Central Jail Adiala and met two Indian nationals who were shifted there from Muzaffarabad on Monday, media reports said.

The prisoners, identified as Feroz Ahmad and Noor Mushtaq Wani, were taken into custody by Pakistani authorities while crossing the Line of Control illegally and were languishing in a jail in Muzaffarabad.

They were brought to Adiala Jail after being granted consular access by the government and were later returned to Muzaffarabad, the reports added.

The delegation included two staff members, one of whom was the first secretary at the Indian High Commission. Two senior officers from the Ministry of Interior were also present. The meeting with the Indian nationals took place in the jail deputy superintendent’s room.
