Jammu, Mar 19: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha participated in the Viksit Bharat Samvad ‘EDGE 2025’ in Kanpur on Tuesday, urging stakeholders from various sectors to work towards making India a $5 trillion economy by 2026 and achieving Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Delivering the keynote address, LG Sinha emphasized the importance of accelerating reforms, enhancing global competitiveness, and fostering innovation-driven growth across all industries.

Key Highlights of LG Manoj Sinha’s Address:

  • Strengthening India’s Manufacturing Sector: Amid global economic uncertainties and geopolitical shifts, Sinha stressed the need to position India as a global hub for design and manufacturing while reducing dependency on external markets.
  • Harnessing Demographic Dividend: He highlighted the significance of skilling, reskilling, and upskilling the youth to capitalize on technological advancements and ensure long-term economic stability.
  • Rural Development Through Industry Collaboration: The LG proposed a Panchayat-Industry partnership model, advocating for modern infrastructure, healthcare, and education in villages to bridge the urban-rural divide.
  • Kanpur’s Industrial Revival: Once known as the “Manchester of the East”, Kanpur is witnessing a resurgence in textile, leather, and defense manufacturing sectors, contributing to India’s economic ambitions.

Sinha also commended the Rotary Club of Kanpur Gaurav, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), and Prout Solicitors LLP for facilitating a platform for impactful discussions on India’s economic growth.

With a focus on foreign investment, domestic supply chains, and inclusive development, LG Sinha reiterated the government’s commitment to making India a global powerhouse by 2026 and achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
