India Blocks 16 Pakistani YouTube Channels for Spreading Misinformation After Pahalgam Terror Attack
Following the recommendation of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government of India on Monday blocked 16 Pakistani YouTube channels for circulating provocative, communally sensitive content and spreading false information targeting the country, its Army, and security forces, according to government sources.
The banned channels include prominent Pakistani media outlets such as Dawn News, Samaa TV, ARY News, and Geo News.
The action comes amid heightened tensions with Pakistan after the April 22 terror attack near Baisaran Meadow in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people lost their lives.
The incident is being described as one of the deadliest attacks in the region since the 2019 Pulwama attack, which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF personnel.
