At least 64 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza since Friday morning, with the death toll expected to rise, as reported by medical sources cited by Al Jazeera.

The United Nations World Food Programme has issued an urgent appeal, warning that Gaza is facing a severe food crisis, putting thousands of lives at risk due to the ongoing violence.

Residents in Gaza are enduring immense psychological strain from the relentless airstrikes and the Israeli blockade that has cut off aid supplies, leaving many struggling to feed their families, Al Jazeera reported.

In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces raided the Fawwar refugee camp near Hebron, arresting eight Palestinians and causing extensive property damage, according to Wafa news agency.

Dr. Hazem Musleh, a pediatrician at Kuwaiti Hospital in Rafah, southern Gaza, shared with Al Jazeera that more children are dying or facing critical health issues as the impact of Israeli attacks intensifies.

On World Heritage Day, the human rights organization Al-Haq reported that Israel has targeted several Palestinian cultural sites, including those recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.

Al Jazeera also highlighted the growing threat of land confiscation by Israeli settlers in the al-Makhrour area of northern Bethlehem, which was added to the UN’s World Heritage List in 2014.

The Gaza Government Media Office confirmed that the death toll in Gaza has surpassed 61,700, with thousands still buried under rubble, presumed dead. Over 116,500 people have been injured since the conflict began 18 months ago.

As reported by Al Jazeera, the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attacks on Israel resulted in the deaths of at least 1,139 people, with over 200 individuals taken captive.
