Srinagar, Dec 29: A fire incident was reported early Monday morning in a three-storey residential house at Umar Colony in Lal Bazar area of Srinagar.
The State Fire Control Room, Batamaloo, received the fire call at 8:42 am, reporting that a three-storey residential house had been engulfed in flames.
Immediately, fire tenders from Fire Station Hazratbal and Fire Station Nowshera were dispatched to the site.
Given the congested locality and lack of an immediate water source, reinforcements from the Fire & Emergency Services Headquarters were also deployed.
Upon arrival, fire crews found the three-storey residential structure fully engulfed in flames. Firefighting operations were launched promptly and, after sustained efforts, the fire was successfully contained to the affected house, preventing it from spreading to adjoining structures.
The operation was led by DFO Headquarters, Shri Muzaffar Ali Bhat, under the direct supervision of Deputy Director F&ES, Dr. Mir Aqib Hussain, along with Mobilizing Officer Shri Aijaz Ahmad Shah.
The three-storey residential house was completely gutted in the incident, but no loss of life or injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and is currently under investigation. (AGENCIES)
