October 30, Delhi: Mohd Ashraf Ganie, an employee of ETV BHARAT, a well-known media company based in Hyderabad, was honored with the prestigious ’40 Under 40 Media Award-2022′ by Exchange4media, a prominent Delhi-based broadcasting and media production industry organization. The inaugural Exchange4media Urdu Journalism 40 Under 40 Summit and awards took place at the India International Centre in New Delhi. This year’s list of 40 winners includes professionals from print, TV, and digital journalism.
This award is designed to recognize and celebrate the exceptional contributions made by 40 media professionals from across the country to Urdu journalism, with Mohd Ashraf Ganie being one of the distinguished awardees. The award ceremony, held under the banner of ‘Jashn-e-Shafat’ in New Delhi, was a grand event where the outstanding achievements of the recipients were duly acknowledged and celebrated.
Mohd Ashraf Ganie has dedicated nearly 7 years of his career to journalism and has worked with multiple news organizations. He currently holds the position of Reporter/Content Editor at ETV BHARAT Jammu. Originally from District Kulgam, he completed his master’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from Central University in 2014. After completing his master’s degree, he began his professional journey with Daily Rising Kashmir and later joined the local news agency Kashmir News Service. In 2018, he joined ETV BHARAT as the Jammu Reporter/Content Editor, where he started writing both English and Urdu stories for the organization. He has conducted interviews with prominent politicians of the country, including Union Minister Hardeep Pauri, former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Mrs. Mehbooba Mufti, Umar Abdullah, and BJP leader Ravinder Raina.
Exchange4media’s Urdu Journalism 40 Under 40 recognizes professionals across print, television, and digital media for their valuable contributions to the field. The list comprises editors, reporters, anchors, journalists, marketing and digital media professionals, videographers, news producers, and video editors.
The inaugural jury was chaired by Dr. S.Y. Quraishi, the former Chief Election Commissioner of India, and included esteemed members such as Dr. Annurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-chief of BW BusinessWorld and Founder of Exchange4media; Dr. Rakhshanda Jalil, Writer, Translator, Literary Historian; Shahid Siddiqui, Editor of Nai Dunia; Muzaffar Ali, Filmmaker and Poet; Zafar Sareshwala, Former Chancellor of MANNU; Yusuf Jameel, Journalist, Columnist, and Winner of the CPJ International Press Freedom Award; Rajesh Raina, Group Editor of News18; Raj Babbar, Actor and former MP; Dr. Shaikh Aquil Ahmad, Director, NCPUL, Ministry of Education, GOI; Mir Alam Ali Zaidi, Journalist, Historian, and Writer; Prof. Farhat Basir Khan, Author, Strategist, Media Communication, and Design Scholar; Suman Varma, CMO of Hamdard India; and Ambreen Khan, Media Marketing Expert.
The inaugural edition received over 200 entries, of which 80 were shortlisted and presented to the jury. Finally, 40 outstanding individuals from across the country were selected for this prestigious award.
