Er Aijaz among 3 member HCoI delegation to visit Saudi Arabia on July 4; to oversee arrangements

Delegation to perform Hajj 2022 too, will visit twin cities of Makah, Madina, stay there till July 16, will interact with Indian pilgrims, likely to meet top Saudi Govt officials, Haj policy to be further fine- tuned for smoother future pilgrimages

Srinagar, Jul 02: A high-level delegation of Hajj Committe of India (HCoI) comprising Chairman AP Abdul Kutty, vice chairman Mehfooza Khanum and Member HCoI Er Aijaz Hussian will leave for Saudi Arabia on July 4 on a 12-day long sojourn to meet Indian pilgrims and get their feedback on the ongoing pilgrimage and to resolve problems being faced by the pilgrims. The delegation will perform Hajj 2022 as well.

Offcials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer ( KNO) that the delegation will leave for Saudi Arab on July 4 and visit twin cities of Makah and Madina. The delegation will visit the accomodations provided to Hajis in the twin holy cities and get their feedback on the facilities available for the Hajis. There have been media reports that Indian Hajis were provided with poor accomodation and Covid SoPs were going for a toss.

Speaking on the occasion, Er Aijaz said that the three member delegation will meet Hujaj and listen to their grievances, if any. He said the delegation is likely to meet the officials from Saudi government and get their views on Hajj 2022. He said the delegation will perform the Hajj 2022 and also go through the feedback received from the pilgrims and Saudi Officials to fine tune the future Hajj policy and to overcomes the challenges to make the journey more smoother in future.

One million Hujaj-e-Kiram have assembled in Makah to perform Hajj 2022 on July 9, the day of 10th Zul-Haj, also known as Eid-ul- Adha. The Hujaj will make sacrifices of animals to mark the muslim festival of Eid ul Adha.
