Eight shops, two houses and a temple looted in J&K’s Ramban

Eight shops, two residential houses, and a temple were looted by unidentified burglars in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district, officials said on Saturday.

The incident took place on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday at Maitra Chowk, triggering protests by locals who demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits and stronger security arrangements in the area, they added.

The looted shops included two general stores, a shoe shop, a hardware outlet, a workshop, and a garment shop, officials said. They added that both houses targeted by the burglars had been locked for the past few days. (Agencies)
