On Tuesday, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Vijay Kumar dismissed the video news clip alleging the participation of suspended police officer Adil Mushtaq in the Kokernag terror incident as unfounded. He strongly condemned this form of irresponsible journalism, deeming it a criminal offense that can lead to legal consequences.
Kashmir Zone Police, citing ADGP Vijay Kumar in a post on X, highlighted the situation, stating, “We have noticed the circulation of a video news report purportedly released by a news agency called Bharat TAK, which suggests DSP Adil Mushtaq’s involvement in the Kokernag terror incident as an act of insider betrayal. This video news is entirely false.”
They clarified that DSP Adil Mushtaq is currently under investigation for a different case in Srinagar district and not in Anantnag. ADGP Kashmir stressed that such irresponsible journalism is considered criminal misconduct and can result in legal action.
