“Our institutions have become centers of excellence,” says Dr. Darakhshan
KISHTWAR: J&K Waqf Board Chairperson and State Minister Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi attended the 120th Annual Celebration of Faridiya Educational Institute, Kishtwar, as the Chief Guest on Sunday. She was accompanied by senior government officers and notable local personalities. The event witnessed vibrant cultural performances and an annual awards ceremony, making it a grand celebration.

Dr. Andrabi received a warm welcome from the institute’s faculty and students. Addressing the gathering, she praised the institute’s achievements over the past three years and congratulated its teachers, administration, and students for their dedicated efforts to improve academic standards.
Encouraging students to embrace innovation and skill-based learning, Dr. Andrabi said that today’s world demands a balance of traditional and modern knowledge.
“This new era requires the Quran in one hand and a computer in the other,” she stated, emphasizing the need to empower students with scientific and technological exposure to prepare them for global competition.
Highlighting reforms in the Waqf education system, Dr. Andrabi said that significant changes have been made over the last three years in line with the National Education Policy (NEP).

“Our schools give equal importance to religious, cultural, and modern education. The results have been exceptional, and we are committed to nurturing future leaders across diverse sectors,” she added.
The event was attended by Assistant Commissioner, Revenue Kishtwar, Mohammad Idrees Lone; President Bar Association, Sheikh Nasir Hussain; Waqf Executive Officer Kishtwar, Firdous Ahmad Bhawani; Principal of the Institute, Mahboob Ahmad Qazi; and other senior district officials.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of annual awards and appreciation certificates to meritorious students.
