Democratic Progressive Azad Party once again reiterated that it aims to win the hearts and minds of people in Jammu and Kashmir if elected to power in upcoming Assembly elections. DPAP holds one day party conventions in Kathpora, Sumbal Sonwari & Wachi constituency. Speaking to a gathering of party workers in Sumbal, the senior party leader & vice chairman G.M Saroori said that whatever the facilities in social sectors are available right now have been mostly developed by Ghulam Nabi Azad as chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir He said even when Azad was a health minister in Union government, he sanctioned various medical colleges for the erstwhile state. “This is called the vision for its people unlike those who exploit the sentiments of people for pity issues like ration cards etc,” he said.
He said Jammu and Kashmir is required of sustainable developmental measures and short-term cosmetic initiatives won’t ever work to eradicate unemployment and economic woes of people. Meanwhile, DPAP held a Public meeting in Drachoo, Wachi Constituency, Shopian to discuss party preparations ahead of Urban-Local-Bodies and Panchayat elections. The meeting was held under the supervision of Provincial President Kashmir DPAP Mohammad Amin Bhat. Zonal President South Kashmir, Gulzar Ahmed Wani, Distt President Mushtaq Khanday laid emphasis on party strengthening at grassroot levels and asked workers to reach out to people and start door to door campaigns.
“Our party leader has so many projects in mind and I am sure once those projects are implemented on ground, the poverty will erase and abundant job opportunities will be created to make the UT as progressive,” Amin Bhatt said. He said that DPAP is successful in pulling the large crowds while other parties are holding closed door meetings since they have lost the public faith and fear an embarrassment due to thin attendance of people in functions. “You can see anywhere in Jammu Kashmir, DPAP is the only party holding openly party functions since it has a huge following. Other parties are unable to pull the workers to the venues due to which they hold closed door meetings only,” Gulzar Wani said. Senior party functionaries who spoke at the Sumbal meeting were General Secretary Province Shafiq Shabnam, Arif Maqbool, Zahoor Ahmed, Khurshid Ahmed, Feroz Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed Bohroo, Ab Rashid Sheikh, Farooq Ahmed Mir expressed their gratitude towards for reaching out to every corner and helping common people in resolving day to day issues.
All the participants unanimously resolved to strengthen the party at grassroots level under the leadership of Democratic Progressive Azad Party Chairman Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad Sahib. Meanwhile, wachi meeting was organised by Adil Quyoom Shah and attended also by Party Provincial Vice President Kashmir Mohammad Altaf Dar, Provincial Secretary Kashmir Javeed Hakim, District President Pulwama Mohammad Ayub, Sr. leader Altaf Mir and others.
