Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday told women not to serve dinner to their husbands if they “chant” Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name.
“Many men are chanting PM Modi’s name, but you have to set it right. If your husband chants Modi’s name, tell him you won’t serve him dinner,” said Kejriwal while addressing a townhall event in Delhi named ‘Mahila Samman Samaroh’.
The event was organised to interact with women after the city government announced in its 2024-25 budget the scheme to provide a monthly amount of Rs 1,000 to all women aged above 18 years.
Arvind Kejriwal told the women to ask their family members to swear upon them that they would support him and AAP.
He also asked the women to tell other women who support the BJP that it is “only your brother Kejriwal who will stand by you”.
“Tell them that I have made their electricity free, their bus tickets free, and now I’m giving these Rs 1,000 to women every month. What has the BJP done for them? Why vote for BJP then? Vote for Kejriwal this time,” said the AAP supremo.
