District Police Kishtwar Arrest Two Thieves, Recover Stolen Property Worth ₹4 Lakh Within 24 Hours

Kishtwar, January 4, 2026:
District Police Kishtwar achieved a major breakthrough by swiftly solving a theft case and recovering stolen property worth approximately ₹4 lakh within 24 hours. Two accused persons were arrested by Police Station Chatroo in connection with the case.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar, Sh. Naresh Singh, JKPS, informed that a case FIR No. 01/2026 under Section 303 BNS was registered at Police Station Chatroo regarding the theft of a JCB rock breaker from near an Army Camp in the Chatroo area.

Acting promptly, a police team of Police Station Chatroo led by SHO PS Chatroo, Insp. Vikram Singh, under the supervision of DySP PC Dachhan, immediately took up the investigation.

Through technical surveillance, local intelligence and sustained efforts, the police team identified and arrested the accused persons: Muzaffar Hussain S/o Akal Din R/o Padyarna and Muneer Hussain S/o Ali Mohammad R/o Dool Kuchalna.

During interrogation, both accused confessed to their involvement in the crime. On their disclosure, the stolen JCB rock breaker worth approximately ₹4,00,000 was recovered.

District Police Kishtwar reiterated its commitment towards effective crime prevention, swift action against offenders and ensuring the safety and security of the general public. Citizens have been advised to remain vigilant and cooperate with police by sharing information related to unlawful activities.
