Dengue cases cross over 3000 mark in Jammu

Jammu, Oct 20: No proper measures have been taken by the Medical and Health department of Jammu and Kashmir to aware the people about the outbreak of Dengue epidemic which has crossed over 3000 cases mark in Jammu alone,sources said here today.

According to Secretary Health and Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar till date 3446 cases have been confirmed against 11909 suspected cases in Jammu division.

When contacted Principal Government Medical College & Associated Hospitals Jammu, Dr Shashi Sudhan informed News Insider 24×7 that all preventive measures have been taken to monitor fever clinics besides several analytical facilities were being provided which are run by the GMC Jammu. Though the impact of epidemic is confined to urban area as of now but possibility of its spread cannot be ruled out, Dr Shashi maintained.

It is pertinent to mention here that Dengue epidemic causes due to bite of mosquito namely ades which mostly spreads in dirts and filth. Its earlier symptoms are chiefly headache, high fever,body ache etc. It’s detected through various clinical tests is well treated by the doctors .
