Cyber Police Budgam recovers and safeguards over Rs 51 lakhs, returning 29 smartphones to their rightful owners

The Cyber Police of Budgam have made notable progress in combating online financial fraud, recovering ₹11,41,233 and preventing additional losses amounting to ₹40,32,499 from fraudsters. These recoveries came in response to multiple complaints regarding fraudulent bank transactions.

In a related success, Cyber Police Budgam tracked and recovered twenty-nine (29) missing smartphones of various brands and models, valued at several lakhs, using the CEIR portal. The devices were quickly returned to their rightful owners.

Guided by SSP Budgam Nikhil Borkar (IPS), the Cyber Police continues to support citizens with technology-related issues, tackle online fraud cases reported through the NCRP portal, and conduct awareness campaigns to educate the public on emerging cyber threats. Citizens are urged not to share bank details, OTPs, or other sensitive personal information with anyone and to report any suspicious activity promptly to the nearest police station or via the Cyber Crime helpline at 1930.
