In this connection, a significant Congress meeting was today convened in the Shopian & Anantnag Districts of Srinagar. The meeting was chaired by AICC Observer Shri Dinesh Gurjar Ji, and attended by senior Congress leaders G. M. Saroori (Ex R&B Minister), Mohd Amin Bhat (Ex MLA), along with several other prominent local leaders and workers from the region.

During the meeting, the leadership reviewed the ongoing progress of the Sanghathan Srijan Abhiyan in South Kashmir and discussed ways to accelerate cadre mobilisation, strengthen booth-level units, and ensure greater public outreach. The leaders emphasized that the Abhiyan is not just an internal exercise but a comprehensive organisational mission aimed at empowering grassroots workers, fostering accountability, and creating a more dynamic, results-driven party structure across Jammu & Kashmir.

The primary objective of the Abhiyan is to revitalize and energize the Congress Party at every tier—from booth committees to district bodies—ensuring enhanced participation, stronger local leadership, and improved coordination among party ranks. The initiative seeks to rebuild trust among the people, bring fresh leadership into the system, and restore the Congress Party’s traditional connect across the region.

Importantly, the leaders underscored that this organisational rebuilding exercise will be undertaken in every district of Jammu & Kashmir, ensuring uniform strengthening of the party’s base across the Union Territory. District-wise planning, evaluation, and cadre engagement will be conducted in a phased manner to achieve maximum impact and wider participation from party workers.

Senior leaders also highlighted the need for a renewed political narrative in J&K that focuses on youth empowerment, employment generation, safeguarding constitutional rights, and addressing local developmental challenges. They urged party workers to intensify door-to-door campaigns, listen to people’s grievances, and work collectively to strengthen the Congress presence in every village and mohalla.

The meeting concluded with a pledge to expand the Sanghathan Srijan Abhiyan with greater energy in the coming weeks, reaffirming that the Congress is firmly in revival mode in Jammu & Kashmir and committed to rebuilding a vibrant, people-centric political force in the Union Territory. (Agencies)
