BJP to form next Govt in J&K of its own: Raina

Jammu: “Our views may be different but we have nothing personal with the leadership of Opposition parties of Jammu and Kashmir”, this was stated by Bhartiya Janata Party J&K president Ravinder Raina during an informal chat with the Chief Editor of News Insider 24×7 Digital Channel and Public Herald Newspaper, Masood Malik here today.

Some of the excerpts of the interview are as under:

Q: Do you think that next government in Jammu and Kashmir will be formed by NC with BJP?
Ravinder Raina: No, not at all. We are sure that BJP will win more than 50 seats in the forthcoming elections and will be able to form next government in Jammu and Kashmir of its own.

Q: PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has also worked with your party earlier and often raises a finger on BJP?
Ravinder Raina: You see we have nothing personal against the leadership of any political party. We can be opponents of Opposition parties on the basis of political agenda, issues or policy matters but there is absolutely nothing personal among us, we are no more foes of anybody.
Citing an example of former chief minister and vice president of National Conference Omar Abdullah, Ravinder Raina said though there is total wedge between the ideology of National Conference and Bhartiya Janata Party so far as political agendas are concerned but despite that I have friendly  and healthy personal relations with Omar Abdullah, he added. We won the elections in 2014 together and both of us discharged our duties to serve the people of state in the capacity of Members of Legislative Assembly and I found him a man of great vision and I respect him very much, Raina further added.

Same is the case with JKPCC president Viqar Rasool Wani whom I admire as one of my best friends. There can be differences on political issues among us but in personal capacity we all are friends but not foes.
We have been working as colleagues in the Assembly and surely I have been criticising them only on some policy matters or some other issues in the Assembly only and no doubt our political fight with each other will  continue but personally I have no issue with anyone inspite I respect everybody though affiliated with any party, Ravinder Raina maintained.
