Jammu Dec 28: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) concluded its two-day Assam State Executive Meeting in Guwahati, setting the tone for an aggressive political and organisational push ahead of the 2026 Assam Assembly elections. The meeting focused on Assam’s development roadmap, governance performance, and strengthening the party’s organisational structure at all levels.
The high-level meeting was attended by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP Assam State President Bhabesh Kalita, Union Ministers Sarbananda Sonowal and Rameswar Teli, and senior central leaders. The meeting also saw the presence of Nitin Nabi, BJP National Working President, and Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and BJP Co-Incharge for the Assam Assembly elections.
The deliberations were held under the guidance of BJP central leadership, including Harish Dwivedi, BJP National General Secretary and In-Charge for Assam, along with other central observers and organisational functionaries associated with the Assam election management committee.

Key members of the Assam BJP core and state executive committee, including party general secretaries, state office-bearers, district presidents, MPs, MLAs, and heads of various party morchas and cells, actively participated in the two-day deliberations. The organisational review covered booth-level preparedness, expansion of party committees, and coordination between the organisation and government.
Addressing the meeting, senior leaders highlighted Assam’s transformation under the BJP-led government, citing major achievements in infrastructure development, law and order, welfare delivery, healthcare, education, and economic growth. Leaders emphasised that peace, stability, and transparent governance have strengthened public trust and accelerated Assam’s development as a key state in the Northeast.
A major focus of the meeting was the party’s strategy for the 2026 Assembly polls. The BJP resolved to intensify outreach programmes, strengthen booth committees, expand the party’s membership base, and focus on key voter segments including youth, women, tea garden workers, farmers, and indigenous communities.

The leadership also discussed countering opposition narratives by effectively communicating the achievements of the Central and State governments. Emphasis was laid on door-to-door campaigns, digital outreach, and social media engagement to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the grassroots.
Party leaders urged workers to maintain discipline, unity, and continuous engagement with the public, stressing the importance of addressing local issues in a timely manner. The BJP reiterated its commitment to inclusive development, cultural preservation, and sustained economic empowerment of Assam.
Concluding the two-day State Executive Meeting, BJP leaders expressed confidence that the party is organisationally strong and politically prepared to seek a renewed mandate in the 2026 Assam Assembly elections on the basis of its governance record and vision for the state’s future.
