Jammu, Dec 30: In a major development if sources are to be believed,former Congress stalwart and founder of Democratic Azad Party, Ghulam Nabi Azad is said to re-join the Congress party again and will receive Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra at Lakhanpur the gateway of Jammu and Kashmir on its arrival on January 22,2023 with a great enthusiasm, Reliable sources said.
Sources said that the news about Azad’s ghar wapsi was making rounds on social media and other platforms today besides published in reputed national newspaper that former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and Congress stalwart is all set to re-join Congress again after remaining in touch for the last quite sometime with party high command in New Delhi.
Speculations were rife that Mr Azad would have been in touch with Congress high command at New Delhi for some attractive offers presumed no less than to become a Member Parliament and later on to be placed in ministry in the Central government without any hurdle.
Ghulam Nabi Azad was enjoined by tall leaders of Congress party enmass when he parted his way a couple of months agofrom Congress party for serious poltical issues with the party high command. He founded new party in Jammu after thorough deliberations with his senior colleagues as result of which Democratic Azad Party came into being.
Though the DAP was yet to get registered and alloted election symbol by the Election Commission of India but flag of the party was made public having three colours including white,blue and yellow. Azad conducted several public rallies in Jammu province and Kashmir valley along with his colleagues who joined him after leaving Congress party enmass and at many occasions the public response was very strong indicating that there was no taller political leader other than Azad in Jammu and Kashmir who knows the art of gathering people in bulk.
A quite some time ago Azad expelled three senior leaders Tara Chand, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma and Balwan Singh in one go for allegedly anti party activities and their wish to join Bharat jodo yatra scheduled to enter Jammu and Kashmir on January 22,2023.All these three were in Congress party earlier and very close to Azad but deserted Congress party after Azad floated new party under the name Democratic Azad Party.
Azad is understood to receive Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra at Lakhanpur the gateway of Jammu and Kashmir on January 22,2023 with warm welcome and will be part of the yatra till it reaches to Kashmir, some unconfirmed sources said.
Some political pundits revealed that Azad will certainly get some extra ordinary offer from party high command as he was an experienced and senior political figure who has record of serving the 150 year old Congress party since the times of Indira Gandhi to Rahul Gandhi for more than 45 years and remained an undisputed and non controversial political leaders for decades.The people who imposed faith in him and joined DAP feel now themselves cheated as there is a big question mark on their future as well as the DAP itself.
