Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday lauded the security forces for avenging the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians.
Speaking at the Tiranga Yatra in Srinagar, Sinha urged citizens to honour the sacrifices made for the nation’s freedom and security.
“I pay my heartfelt tributes to those who sacrificed their lives to free us from imperial colonial rule, and to the armed forces and police who avenged the Pahalgam attack and safeguarded the nation. It is our duty to uphold their hopes and aspirations,” he said.
Sinha noted that over the past five years, the enthusiasm for the Tiranga Yatra has only grown stronger.
He highlighted that the Tiranga Yatra holds special importance as it resonates with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).
“Since August 2, we have been running the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, and the passion displayed by the youth of Jammu and Kashmir has been truly inspiring. We are committed to living for the tricolour and, if need be, laying down our lives for its honour,” he said.
The LG also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his tireless efforts in fulfilling the dreams of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth.
