Actor Bhagyashree, who starred alongside Salman Khan in the 1989 classic Maine Pyar Kiya, recently recalled a moment on set when she believed the superstar was flirting with her. In an interview, she shared the amusing memory and revealed that Salman and director Sooraj Barjatya were the only ones from her side to attend her wedding.
During an interview with filmmaker and author Kovid Gupta for his YouTube channel, Bhagyashree recalled the incident and explained how she mistook Salman for flirting with her during the filming of the iconic song. She said, “During our shooting in Ooty, we had to shoot for Dil Deewana Bin Sajna and suddenly Salman came, sat right next to me and started singing the song in my ear.”
She continued, “And he had always been a gentleman on set and so nice to me that I couldn’t understand where it just seemed like crossing the line over flirting, and I thought, ‘why is he doing this’. And, he would follow me around and keep singing the song and I thought what is happening.”
Bhagyashree recalled that her confusion was cleared when Salman Khan privately told her that he knew she was in love with someone else and was missing him on set. She said, “Finally, he took me to the side and told me that he knew who I was in love with. He said, ‘I know about Himalaya. Why don’t you call him here?’ I was like, ‘Oh my god! This can’t be happening’.”
