Act Now or Lose Access: DSEK Ask Schools to Reactivate Inactive Bank Accounts

SRINAGAR: Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has asked the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) to submit the reactivation application form for the inoperative and Inactive bank accounts falling under J&K banks.

DSEK in a communique enjoined upon all CEOs and Drawing and Disbursing Officers that different branch heads of Jammu and Kashmir Bank have intimated that various saving or current accounts of school or institutions were opened in the J&K Bank branches and presently have become inoperative and inactive.

“However, as per direction of RBI such inoperative or inactive accounts will be freezed and further the accounts holders will not be able to make any transactions,” DSEK said.

The directorate further said that it needs to mention that all such account holders have already been informed and intimated by the concerned bank but no action has been taken upto date.

“Keeping in view the situation, all Chief Education Officers and Drawing and Disbursing Officers are hereby directed to immediately submit the application for re-activation of accounts along with KYC documents that is PAN Card, Aadhar Card copy of authorised signatory, Rubber stamp and two leaves of letter pad etc,” it reads.

The directorate further said that if any leniency in this regard was found shall be taken seriously and concerned CEO and DDO shall be responsible for any kind of lapse.
