Jammu: The administration of the Jammu and Kashmir union territory has initiated an investigation into a case involving the fraudulent acquisition of a government job through non-criteria means over 23 years ago in Srinagar. This inquiry was prompted by a video report aired by News Insider 24×7, resulting in the issuance of Government Order No: 478-JK(APD) on September 15, 2023, by Principal Secretary APD, Mr. Shailendra Kumar.
According to the report, Nahida Jabeen Mir, a government official, has managed to secure a position in the Horticulture Planning and Marketing department for the past 23 years using fraudulent tactics. Despite numerous allegations, she has held a prestigious position within the department without possessing the necessary qualifications. It has also come to light that she has abused her official authority wherever she has been stationed, warranting a thorough investigation.
Her educational credentials do not align with the requirements outlined in the JKPSC notification, and this situation raises concerns about her undue influence in powerful circles. Despite several internal departmental inquiries and court directives, she has persisted in her role and continued to misuse her official authority.
In response to these developments, the administration has taken a strong stance by issuing an order and providing a two-week deadline for the inquiry officer to submit their findings, paving the way for further action.
