The authorities in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district have imposed a blanket ban on the sale, storage and use of electric appliances during winters.
According to an order, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), it has been apprehended that non-judicious use of electric appliances such as blowers, heaters, radiators may cause damages to transmission lines due to heavy load, resulting in disturbance in the hassle free power supply.
As per the order the ban has been imposed on the usage of electric appliances in order to provide hassle free electric supply to consumers as well as government offices and hospitals of the district and to avoid unscheduled power cuts.
It added that a blanket ban is hereby imposed on the storage, sale, possession, and use of heavy heating appliances such as blowers, heaters, radiators etc within the territorial jurisdiction of Ganderbal with immediate effect.
