Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has shifted its seasonal functioning to Jammu, marking the beginning of the winter session of the court. On the occasion, the Chief Justice expressed his commitment to making the upcoming session more beneficial, effective and accessible for the people.
The Chief Justice said that every possible effort would be made to ensure that the judicial system delivers better services to the public and addresses the concerns of litigants. He emphasised the importance of making court proceedings more meaningful and ensuring that people receive timely justice.
The seasonal shift of the High Court from Srinagar to Jammu is part of the traditional Darbar Move arrangement, under which the court operates from both regions during different parts of the year.
With the High Court now functioning from Jammu, litigants, advocates and other stakeholders in the Jammu region are expected to benefit from easier access to judicial proceedings and legal services.
The Chief Justice’s remarks underline the judiciary’s commitment to strengthening public access to justice, improving the efficiency of court proceedings and making the judicial system more responsive to people’s needs.
The focus during the session will remain on delivering effective justice and ensuring that the institution continues to serve the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
