Ferozepur, September 26, 2026: A Punjab Police Inspector posted with the Counter Intelligence wing has been arrested in Ferozepur after police allegedly recovered 3.35 kg of heroin, six pistols, ammunition and six mobile phones from his vehicle.
The officer, identified as Inspector Baldev Singh, was reportedly stopped at a police checkpoint on the Ferozepur–Moga road. Police searched the vehicle and recovered the suspected contraband and weapons.
According to reports, the recovery included six pistols, magazines and live rounds, along with the heroin. A case is being investigated under provisions of the NDPS Act and Arms Act, while authorities are examining whether other individuals or networks may be connected to the alleged activities.
The arrest has drawn attention because the officer was serving in a unit tasked with tackling narcotics and other serious security-related crimes. Further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances behind the alleged possession and identify any wider links.
