Kishtwar/Srinagar June 16, 2026: In a significant move aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure in Kishtwar, young and dynamic National Conference leader Shahan Sajjad Kichloo today called on Sakina Itoo and submitted a representation seeking the sanctioning of a Cath Lab facility for District Hospital Kishtwar.
The demand for a Cath Lab has remained a long-pending aspiration of the people of Kishtwar, particularly in view of the increasing burden of cardiac ailments and the absence of advanced heart-care facilities in the district. Patients requiring specialized cardiac interventions are often compelled to travel to Jammu or Srinagar, causing delays in treatment and adding to their financial and physical hardships.
A Cath Lab is a specialized medical facility used for diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases through minimally invasive procedures such as angiography, angioplasty, and other cardiac interventions. Its establishment at District Hospital Kishtwar would significantly enhance emergency cardiac care and improve healthcare outcomes for patients across the district.
The initiative by Shahan Sajjad Kichloo has been widely appreciated by local residents, who view it as a timely and much-needed step towards addressing a critical healthcare requirement. His continued engagement with public issues and efforts to bring essential services closer to the people reflect his commitment to the welfare and development of Kishtwar.
If approved by the government, the Cath Lab facility is expected to benefit thousands of patients, particularly those residing in remote and far-flung areas of the district, by ensuring access to advanced cardiac care without the need for long-distance travel.
Residents have expressed hope that the government will give due consideration to the proposal and fulfill this long-standing demand, ushering in a new era of healthcare services in Kishtwar.
