Jammu, May 29: Director of the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Jammu, conducted a two-day tour of Basohli and Bani to review the availability and distribution of essential commodities and assess the functioning of the department at the grassroots level.

During the visit, the Director interacted with departmental employees and consumers to obtain first-hand feedback regarding public services and supply management. He reviewed the stock position and supply chain of essential commodities in the region.

At Basohli, the Director inspected food stores and Fair Price Shops and also interacted with consumers to gather feedback regarding civil supplies and public distribution services.
In Bani, the Director inspected departmental stores, Fair Price Shops and gas outlets. He directed officials to work with dedication, transparency and accountability to ensure complete public satisfaction.

The Director also warned against unfair trade practices in the market and instructed officials to conduct regular market inspections and sampling drives to check irregularities and ensure quality standards.

It is pertinent to mention that Director FCS&CA Jammu, Mr. Shavan, is currently on a five-day field tour covering Kathua, Basohli, Bani, Lohai Malhar, Sarthal, Bhaderwah and Chiralla areas to oversee departmental functioning and hold interactions with consumers, traders and other stakeholders.
